Terms of Services

1. Acceptance of Terms and Service Eligibility

By accessing the Marin Detailing Company website or booking any of our professional automotive care services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, all applicable laws, and regulations. Our services, which include specialized interior restoration, exterior polishing, and ceramic coating, are available to residents and vehicle owners within Marin and Sonoma County. To be eligible for our services, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement. If you are booking a service on behalf of a company or another individual, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity or person to these terms. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time, particularly if we determine that a vehicle’s condition poses a safety risk to our technicians or if the service requested is outside the scope of our mobile detailing capabilities. These terms govern the entire relationship between the client and Marin Detailing Company, superseding any prior oral or written agreements. We encourage all clients to read these terms thoroughly before finalizing a booking, as clicking “Schedule a Detail” or signing a service order constitutes a formal legal acceptance of these conditions. Failure to comply with these terms may result in the immediate termination of services and potential legal action to recover costs or damages.

2. Booking, Cancellations, and Payment Policies

To maintain our high standard of efficiency across our service areas, Marin Detailing Company operates on a strict scheduling system. When you book an appointment through our online portal, you are required to provide accurate vehicle information and contact details. We may require a deposit or credit card authorization to secure your time slot, especially for premium packages like full paint correction or ceramic applications. We understand that plans change; however, because we allocate specific technicians and equipment to your location, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling requests. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee or forfeiture of your deposit. Payment is due in full upon completion of the detailing service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept major credit cards, digital payments, and other methods specified on our checkout page. In the event of inclement weather—such as heavy rain or extreme heat—that prevents us from performing mobile services safely or effectively, Marin Detailing Company reserves the right to reschedule your appointment at no additional cost to you. We strive for total transparency in our pricing; however, if a vehicle is found to be in a condition significantly worse than described (e.g., excessive pet hair, mold, or biohazards), additional surcharges may apply, which will be discussed with the client before work begins.

3. Mobile Service Requirements and Client Responsibilities

As a mobile detailing provider serving Marin and Sonoma County, we bring the shop to you. To ensure a successful service, the client is responsible for providing a safe and suitable workspace for our technicians. This includes a flat, paved surface with enough room for our mobile unit to park safely and for all vehicle doors to open fully. The client must ensure that the vehicle is parked in a location where detailing is permitted by local ordinances or HOA regulations. Furthermore, we require access to the vehicle’s keys and, in some cases, access to a water source and electrical outlet, depending on the specific equipment required for your package. It is the client’s responsibility to remove all personal belongings, valuables, and car seats from the interior of the vehicle prior to our arrival. While our technicians are highly trained and careful, Marin Detailing Company is not responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle that may be lost or damaged during the cleaning process. If the vehicle contains hazardous materials, needles, or extreme filth that was not disclosed at the time of booking, our technicians reserve the right to stop work immediately for safety reasons, and the client may still be charged a service fee. By booking with us, you authorize our technicians to operate the vehicle for the sole purpose of moving it within the service area if necessary.

4. Liability, Damage Claims, and Service Guarantees

At Marin Detailing Company, we treat every vehicle with the utmost care, using premium products from brands like P&S and Adams Polishes. However, it is important to acknowledge that automotive detailing involves the use of chemicals, pressure washers, and high-speed polishers. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, such as paint chips, oxidation, cracked leather, or brittle plastic components that may fail during a standard cleaning process. Clients are encouraged to perform a walk-around with the technician before and after the service to note the vehicle’s condition. Any claims for damage alleged to have been caused by our service must be reported to Marin Detailing Company within 24 hours of the appointment. We carry comprehensive liability insurance to protect our clients and our business; however, our liability is strictly limited to the cost of the service provided. We do not guarantee the total removal of all stains, odors, or deep scratches, as the age and previous maintenance of a vehicle play a significant role in the final result. Our “Satisfaction Guarantee” means that if you are unhappy with a specific aspect of the detail, we will do our best to rectify it on-site. Once the technician leaves the premises and the client has signed off on the work, the service is considered accepted and complete, and no further refunds or adjustments will be issued.

5. Intellectual Property and Use of Media

You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any part of our digital presence without express written consent. A unique aspect of our service involves documenting the transformation of the vehicles we work on. By booking a service, you grant Marin Detailing Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to take photographs or videos of your vehicle for promotional and marketing purposes. This media may be used on our website, social media platforms, or in advertising materials to showcase our craftsmanship. We respect your privacy and will make every reasonable effort to obscure license plate numbers or any identifying personal information that may appear in the background of these images. If you do not wish for your vehicle to be featured in our gallery or marketing materials, you must notify the technician or our office in writing prior to the start of the service. These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from our services or these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Marin County. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued patronage of Marin Detailing Company signifies your agreement to the most current version of these terms.
